What I love about album design

We all think we can do it all.. the photos, the logistics, the design, the graphics. When it comes down to it, we know we can do it all, and do it well. But the only problem is – the time.
We just don’t have it... no one has that time anymore. That’s why we have to outsource to others. It makes perfect sense to hand over the tasks that aren’t exactly our point of interest or expertise.
My guess is that the photographer who is passionate about capturing that moment in time that the bride looks into her groom’s eyes and sees the unconditional love he has for her; the photographer who is ready to click the shutter just in time for the precise moment the baby decides to curl up the edges of his mouth into just the right shape for his grandparents to discern his first smile; and the photographer who has snapped the kiss between sister and brother as the sun peers through the leaves of the backyard gumtree, is the photographer who is more concerned about getting the shot than he or she is about how the shot is placed on the page in the final album.
That’s the beauty of having people to turn to who love dabbling with space and colour to create the perfect position and the perfect environment for those photos.
I can’t wait to see how that bride looks once she has her bridesmaids’ colours behind her and the words that symbolise how she felt that day floating out of the page. I love seeing the baby on the edge of hysterics as he realises his dad is peek-a-booing at him. And to see the innocence of children as they share a moment that may be a once in a lifetime gesture… is such a beautiful experience.
I can’t wait to see what my photographers bring to me with each collection. I feel like a piece of them is forever imprinted on my heart.
