Do you remember those beautiful shoes?

Well they are back and we now have the entire album to share with you. This album is so gentle and romantic, I just love it. The bride is so elegant and beautiful, the location so very rich in heritage and those shoes are just to die for.

Commercial Albums - The benefits of showing off what you do in a beautiful album

The sky really is the limit when it comes to starting with a fresh piece of canvas. With that clean slate, you have the opportunity to create something that looks amazing and sends just the right message to your chosen audience.
This applies to just about anything - from building a gorgeous new home, to designing a perfectly designed photo album.
Recently, I had the opportunity to combine those two passions of mine (architecture and album design) together and the result was this spectacular coffee table book for Builder, Geoff Penny.
Geoff has been a local Bundaberg builder for many years and has worked with so many different materials to breathe life into his amazing homes.
Through this album, we were able to showcase his workmanship and all of the little design nuances that make Geoff Penny homes so special.
An album’s job is to do just that – showcase people or subject to demonstrate their uniqueness. The placement of professionally captured photographs; the careful selection of graphics, words and phrases; and of course the obviously outstanding workmanship, all help to build a story for the observer.
In this album, we can see how Geoff has transformed an older-style home into a modern and contemporary structure, giving it an unrecognisable appearance and recreating a residence that exudes style and charm. We can also see the modern features throughout each of the homes, depicted clearly and presented beautifully.
Throughout these beautifully organised pages, it becomes evident that Geoff is a master of his craft, accomplishing stunning houses that anyone would be proud to call their own.
I don’t know about you, but if I could capture what I do so perfectly, with the essence displayed so beautifully and transparently for the entire world to see, I would.
Wouldn’t you?
Cheers
Mel x

Feature layout of the month - September 2011

I know I am always more inclined to pick a pretty girly layout featuring a beautiful dress and flowers or a loving tender moment, but this month it is time for one of the boys.

I absolutely love how much fun these boys are having relaxing and chilling out before the big event. Their outfits and hats have a very old world charm about them but in a very modern setting and the colours in the images are just beautiful, great job Ben Markey

Wedding Album Design - Just a little bit Quirky.

I had so much fun designing this album as the photographer Ben Markey from the Sunshine Coast wanted to have a bit of fun with it. The end result is a little bit quirky but still very elegant.

Absolutely love this page, fantastic colours and love the boys hats.

Feature layout of the month – July 2011

I know this layout was part of our feature album of the month for June, but I just so love the simple beauty of this young girl spending time at the beach that I just couldn’t resist.

Benefits of outsourcing album design.

There are a huge amount of benefits to be gained by hiring an album designer. Your job is to create beautiful photos – right? So after you have done what you are optionally good at, you can pass on your works of art onto someone who thrives on constructing albums - someone who is passionate about the task and has the time, expertise and resources to complete the task.
Once you have the right person for the job, you can book in more shoots while the designer is taking care of the album for you.
Make sure you have all your ducks in a row by ensuring that you:
  • Research the album designer – check out their portfolio and their client list to ensure they are as good as they say they are;
  • Commit to a minimum album/page deal to take advantage of the best design rates possible;
  • Develop a great rapport with your designer by referring colleagues to them to ensure future discounted rates;
  • Create web links to your designer to improve ‘hits’ and offer to guest blog for their website;
  • Use social networking to its full advantage by following associates and retweeting or liking others pages, which encourages your networks to do the same;
  • Use your time wisely by booking in shoots while your album designer frees you up for more work.
The whole point of outsourcing album design is to allow you to do what you do best – to create beautiful images, while someone else can take the time to make them indelibly lasting on the pages of an album.
